Attendance Policy

Students are expected to be in their classrooms on time. After 20 minutes, a tardy becomes
an absence. The Student Services Office will notify parents and guardians if a student's tardiness
becomes a pattern. Students with a consistent pattern of tardiness will face disciplinary
action, including after school, morning, and Saturday detentions. Additionally, students
frequently tardy may be prohibited from participating in extracurricular activities and
events.

The use of cell phones and AirPods is not permitted during class. Each classroom has been
provided with a cell phone storage unit. At the beginning of each class period, students are
required to place their cell phones and AirPods in the designated storage space. Students
will not have access to their cell phones during class time. Should a student need to use
their cell phone during class due to an emergency, it is their responsibility to communicate
this need to the teacher promptly.

The use of cell phones and AirPods is permitted during breaks, lunches, and before and after
school. Cell phones and AirPods confiscated during the school day can be retrieved after
school in the Student Services Office. Students found in violation of this policy will, at a minimum,
receive detention. Frequent violations may result in the loss of privileges. Confiscated
electronic devices may be subject to search by school administration.

Students are expected to use their laptops, iPads, and other electronic devices in a
respectful and responsible manner, adhering to classroom policies established by the
teacher. Inappropriate use of electronic devices may result in both academic and disciplinary
consequences.

Dress and appearance should always reflect neatness, cleanliness, modesty and good taste.
Clothing may not refer to alcohol, alcohol-related establishments, tobacco, drugs, anti-religious
messages, sexual innuendo or violent images. In all dress code violations the Student Services Office will
determine whether student attire adheres to Bishop Blanchet's dress code policy. Students in
violation of the dress code policy will minimally receive a detention. Repeated violations will result
in further disciplinary action. Below are some general guidelines regarding dress code requirements:
● Appearance should always be modest and appropriate
● No hats or hoods permitted while in the building
● No holes in pants
● No pajamas
● Athletic wear is permitted

Formal Dress Days
Throughout the school year, the school will designate formal dress days and require students
to dress in more formal attire. These will typically occur for mass and other formal events and
celebrations. The school will communicate with the students in advance of our formal dress
days. On formal dress days, students are prohibited from wearing sweats, yoga pants, and
athletic shorts.

Bishop Blanchet values the academic achievement of its students. It is the expectation of
Bishop Blanchet High School that students conduct themselves in an honest and ethical
way. The expectation is that students will work individually on their school work unless
instructed otherwise by the teacher. Each student acknowledges that the work represented on
all assignments and assessments is their own.

Students in violation of Bishop Blanchet's academic integrity policy will receive a zero for the
assignment in question. The teacher will discuss the incident with the student/s and refer the
incident to the Student Services Office. Parents/guardians will be notified. Minimally, students in
violation of Bishop Blanchet's Academic Integrity policy will receive detention. Repeated
violations of school policy will result in additional consequences up to and including dismissal.
Students who violate school policy three times in their Bishop Blanchet academic career will be
placed on disciplinary probation and the school may notify prospective colleges and universities.
